Miguel Tejada? Oh, now this is interesting

Posted by Joe Siegler on December 8, 2005 at 8:32 pm

Miguel Tejada wants out of Baltimore.
Should we go get him? Oh hell yes. What would it take? Probably Joaquin Arias, one of Danks/Diamond, and probably Hank Blalock. I wonder if the Orioles would try and tack on Javy Lopez to that. It probably won’t happen, but oh man would that be cool.
Mike Young has already said he’d go back to second base if the right situation presented itself. I think Miguel Tejada would be the right situation. :)
Busy day for me. I just realized this was my eighth entry of the day here. 9th in the last 24 hrs if you count the Soriano trade story from last night. I’m not sure I’ve been that prolific before, but then again today’s been a busy day in Rangerland. :)

if you had asked me yesterday about tejada i’d say no way but now that we don’t have soriano, tejada wouldn’t be a bad asset to have…who would fill in for blalock if we trade him away? i think that we need to trade one of our solid outfielders (mench has been getting a lot of talk)and either danks or diamond…but one things for sure…we need pitching in the worst way and now we also need a second baseman because i don’t think kinsler can fill the spot

Here’s a question for ya. What are the chances the rangers could pick up Roger Clemens for a 1 year deal? He has expressed his wishes to stay in Texas and it sounds like Houston may not offer him another contract (since he’s not even sure if he’s going to play). I know we need to focus on long term pitching, but just having Clemens could boost our pitching team. Is this even possible?

Kurt, you have to at least give Kinsler a try. That’s all we’ve been hearing the last few years. Give Kinsler the shot. Give Kinsler a shot. Now we’ll get it, unless something happens like Garciaparra or Tejada end up in our lap.
Travis, as for Clemens, I don’t see it happening. Sure, it would be interesting to see him here, and I’m sure Hicks wouldn’t give a crap about the money if he were to pitch for the Rangers. But I just don’t see it happening. What I’d like to see is him go back to Boston for one final season to bookend his career.

About Site

This is a Texas Rangers fan site run by Joe Siegler. From 1999 through 2013 I used to do daily game updates, but got burnt out on that and stopped.

The site lives on as my favorite section to update I’m still very interested in. That is the Uniform Number history pages, which I’m quite proud of. Plus Ill write the odd article here and there.

I mostly spend my time in this Facebook group talking about the Rangers these days.

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line.
