Various things

Posted by Joe Siegler on April 20, 2005 at 4:17 pm

Well, my baby was born, and things are going great. If you’re interested, there’s a story here. I’m still not ready to resume big updates, but I can get this small one.
1) Augstin Montero was suspended for 10 days for violating MLB’s new steroid program. Dumbass. Can’t remember who we had to sacrifice from the 40 man roster for this guy, but… DUMBASS!
2) In a move that kind of surprised me, we demoted Adrian Gonzalez to AAA and prompted Laynce Nix. Not sure what prompted that, exactly.
Nice 3-0 win yesterday. I actually had the Rangers game on a couple of times when my wife was in the hospital. Once before the baby was born, and once after the baby was in the room. My daughter was one day old, and I was showing her a Rangers game already.

Gonzalez getting sent down – didn’t see that coming although I guess he’s not been that hot so far. No doubt we’ll see him back up soon though and hopefully we’ll see Nix hitting the ball a lot better now. It will be nice seeing him back in the team to be honest.
Glad things are going good with your baby and your wife – I hope for nothing but good things for you all and who knows, maybe in a few years she’ll be able to say she was born the year Texas won their first World Series. (Okay, a wee bit ambitious but it’s nice to dream. ;-)) :-)

About Site

This is a Texas Rangers fan site run by Joe Siegler. From 1999 through 2013 I used to do daily game updates, but got burnt out on that and stopped.

The site lives on as my favorite section to update I’m still very interested in. That is the Uniform Number history pages, which I’m quite proud of. Plus Ill write the odd article here and there.

I mostly spend my time in this Facebook group talking about the Rangers these days.

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line.
