The Ballpark is whored out just a little bit more

Posted by Joe Siegler on March 24, 2006 at 4:31 pm

Just noticed today that the Ballpark in Arlington was whored out a little more. The 200 level of seats is now going to be called the “Lexus Club Level”. More names in the ballpark where one wasn’t before. I seem to recall last season that Hicks said the club was making money. I guess it wasn’t enough. Yeah yeah yeah, I know – “we need more income to sustain and grow the club”. Yeah, Pbbbbbt. Find it elsewhere. Stop whoring Ameriquest Field The Ballpark in Arlington, please. Sigh.
This just adds another product that I will never give any money to or buy anything from. That’s all these deals do, make the “No way” list get larger. There’s a real happy sounding press release about this over at the Rangers site here.
And as long as I’m complaining, what’s with that stupid name for the Hall of Fame Ballot that was announced today? I mean come on…
The Verizon Yellow Pages and SuperPages.com Hall of Fame Hall of Fame Ballot
Excuse me? What’s that nonsense? Does anyone even care that it’s called that besides Hicks, who gets a few more bucks for it? Must need new floor mats for his Lexus. Sigh.

I totally agree with you joe. All of these advertisements around the ballpark must go…including the ridiculously crappy name “Ameriquest Field in Arlignton”. It made me extremely happy for me to see you cross that name out, and put “The Ballpark in Arlington”. I know I’m not going to put up with the changes much longer, and neither are my friends. I want to see pure green walls all around our field, not these dumb ads (which by the way come on between innings of the game anyways!) It will make me not want to watch anymore games on tv…and that will be a sad day when I don’t get my daily dosage of my beloved Rangers…

About Site

This is a Texas Rangers fan site run by Joe Siegler. From 1999 through 2013 I used to do daily game updates, but got burnt out on that and stopped.

The site lives on as my favorite section to update I’m still very interested in. That is the Uniform Number history pages, which I’m quite proud of. Plus Ill write the odd article here and there.

I mostly spend my time in this Facebook group talking about the Rangers these days.

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line.
