What a disappointment. :( We battled great in this game, overcome some great bullpen pitching by the Yankees to tie it up, and go to extra innings. However, Corey Lee making his major league debut gave up a three run home run in the top of the 11th. That was too bad, he didn't look that bad for a kid making his first appearance under pressure against the Yankees.
We try and salvage the third game, which honestly, was the only game I thought we'd win coming into this anyway.

Game Recap
ARLINGTON, TEXAS (TICKER) -- Tino Martinez's three-run homer with two out in the top of the 11th inning lifted the New York Yankees to a 10-7 victory over the Texas Rangers in a showdown of American League division leaders.
Unlike Monday's 21-3 drubbing administered by the Yankees, tonight's contest featured three lead changes before Texas pulled even in the bottom of the eighth on a solo homer by Lee Stevens off Mike Stanton.
But New York solved Corey Lee (0-1), who was making his major league debut after being recalled from Class AAA Oklahoma earlier today.
Derek Jeter drew a one-out walk and Paul O'Neill singled. Bernie Williams, who was 4-for-5 to that point, grounded out to third, advancing the runners.
Lee, the seventh Texas pitcher, nearly struck out Martinez on a 2-2 pitch but barely missed low. After fouling off two pitches, Martinez belted a towering fly ball into the right-field seats for his 20th homer.
"I've got a good swing going, and I feel well," said Martinez. "I'll just try to keep it up the rest of the season. I had some good swings today, I'm trying to just get a good ball to hit."
"I was excited," said Lee. "Unfortunately, things didn't turn out the way we wanted it to. I threw a bad pitch to a good hitter. If you play a long time, that's going to happen."
Mariano Rivera recorded his league-leading 36th save in 40 opportunities but not without some excitement. The Rangers had runners on the corners with two out, but the hard-throwing closer struck out Ivan Rodriguez, blowing a fastball by him to end the game and complete the All-Star catcher's 0-for-6 night.
Ramiro Mendoza (6-7) pitched two scoreless innings for the victory as New York won for the 14th time in its last 20 games. The Yankees are 7-3 against the Rangers this season and 15-5 dating back to the start of the 1998 season.
The Rangers attacked Yankees starter David Cone from the onset, getting four runs in the first. Rusty Greer had a two-run homer, Todd Zeile added an RBI double and Stevens a run-scoring groundout.
But New York responded with five runs in the second against Mike Morgan. Chuck Knoblauch capped the uprising with a three-run homer, his 13th, as the Yankees grabbed a 5-4 lead.
"You have to count every pitch that he throws, and that was a bad pitch he threw to Knoblauch," Oates said.
"I made a lot of good pitches, I let the game get away in the second inning," admitted Morgan. "With two out, I hung a 2-0 slider to Knoblauch. I lost this thing in the second inning."
Texas regained the lead in the second on a solo homer by Tom Goodwin and RBI single by Juan Gonzalez. The Rangers chased Cone after just 1 2/3 innings, his shortest start since August 17, 1997.
"They came out swinging, it happened quickly," said Cone. "There's been concern about me for the last 10 years. I really did feel good in warmups. It just didn't work out. They jumped on me early and I never got a chance to settle in, and I was done."
But as bad as Cone was, reliever Allen Watson turned things around. The veteran lefthander scattered three hits over 4 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out four.
"Watson did a hell of a job for us," Yankees manager Joe Torre said. "I was kidding him when he came out and told him, `Just three more innings and we're there.' He thought I was serious."
Williams and Martinez had RBI singles in the fifth to give the Yankees a 7-6 lead, but Stevens drilled a 1-1 pitch over the right-field fence with two out in the eighth to tie the game.
Morgan lasted four-plus innings, surrendering six runs and five hits. Mike Venafro, Tim Crabtree, Mike Munoz, Jeff Zimmerman and closer Jeff Wetteland limited the Yankees to one run over six innings before Lee started the 11th.
Recap #2
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- The New York Yankees' bullpen kept them in the game long enough for Tino Martinez to win it.
Four Yankee relievers allowed one run over 9 1/3 innings, and Tino Martinez hit a three-run homer in the 11th as New York maintained its dominance of the Texas Rangers with a 10-7 victory Tuesday night.
"Our bullpen did a heck of a job," Yankees manager Joe Torre said. "They were the difference in the game."
One day after the Yankees beat the Rangers 21-3 -- the worst loss in Texas history -- New York needed extra innings to beat Texas for the eighth time in 11 meetings this year.
Rangers manager Johnny Oates was forced to use rookie left-hander Corey Lee in the 11th because Oates had used his five other relievers. Lee was making his major league debut after being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma before the game.
Derek Jeter drew a one-out walk from Lee (0-1), who made his major league debut. Paul O'Neill followed with a single. One out later, Martinez hit a 3-2 hanging curveball into the right-field seats for his 20th homer.
"I've had good at-bats the last two days," said Martinez, 4-for-6 with a two-run homer against Texas on Monday night. "I haven't been swinging at bad pitches. I'm taking what they're giving me and it's been working."
Lee said Martinez did what a major league hitter should do.
"I threw a bad pitch to a good hitter," he said. "I was excited. Unfortunately, things didn't turn out the way I wanted them to."
The Yankees, who have knocked the Rangers out of the playoffs two of the last three years, are 25-9 against Texas since the beginning of the 1996 division series.
Allen Watson was Torre's best pitcher, throwing 4 1/3 innings of three-hit scoreless ball in relief of ineffective starter David Cone.
"Everything's coming together for me," said Watson, pitching for his third team this season. "I was able to get ahead of the hitters with my fastball. They're a free-swinging team, so I was able to get them out by swinging at sliders in the dirt."
Ramiro Mendoza (6-7) held the Rangers scoreless in the ninth and 10th, and Mariano Rivera pitched the 11th for his 36th save. With two runners on and two outs, Rivera struck out Ivan Rodriguez, who went 0-for-6.
Rusty Greer went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and two doubles for Texas.
Trailing 7-6, the Rangers tied the game in the eighth inning on Lee Stevens' 20th homer with two outs. Yankees reliever Mike Stanton had 14 consecutive scoreless appearances before allowing the homer.
Chuck Knoblauch's 13th homer, a three-run shot, gave the Yankees a 5-4 second-inning lead, then New York rallied to take a 7-6 advantage with a two-run fifth. Tino Martinez's RBI single put the Yankees in front.
Cone allowed six runs and seven hits in 1 2/3 innings -- his shortest since Aug. 17, 1997 against the Rangers, when he left after one inning with arm problems.
"I felt fine, but they came out aggressive," Cone said. "I'm entitled to a bad night."
GAME NOTES: The Rangers sent reliever Danny Patterson to Triple-A Oklahoma and recalled Lee. ... Before Monday night, Texas' most lopsided loss was a 19-2 defeat to Seattle in 1994. ... The Rangers have received permission from the commissioner's office to mail playoff ticket forms to season ticket holders. ... Goodwin hit his 11th career homer. ... Derek Jeter is the first Yankee to score at least 100 runs in four straight seasons since Mickey Mantle hit the 100-run mark in nine straight season from 1953-61. ... Williams has 30 RBIs in August, the third Yankee this decade to have 30 or more in any month. Martinez had 34 in April 1997 and Paul O'Neill drove in 33 in May 1998.
