Not available, but in the first inning that I did listen to on the radio, there was some really nice D all in the first inning:

Game Recap

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA (TICKER) -- Todd Zeile belted a three-run homer and Lee Stevens and Ivan Rodriguez added two-run shots to power the Texas Rangers to their sixth straight victory, 11-8 over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

The victory was tempered by injuries to starting pitcher Mike Morgan and slugger Juan Gonzalez. Morgan left after the second inning with a bruised right forearm and Gonzalez exited in the fourth with a jammed right wrist.

"X-rays were negative on both. As far as I know, they are day-to-day," Rangers manager Johnny Oates said.

Rookie Danny Kolb (1-0) recorded his first major league victory in relief of Morgan, allowing three runs and six hits over 4 2/3 innings with four walks and three strikeouts.

"Kolb threw a lot of pitches tonight. He battled and made the pitches when he had to," Oates said. "He just ran out of gas."

"Kolb threw OK tonight. He is young and will be a great pitcher," Rodriguez added. "He fell behind at times but made the pitches to get out of some innings."

The Rangers grabbed a 5-1 lead with four runs in the fourth off rookie starter Ryan Rupe (4-5). Gonzalez reached on an error by third baseman Bobby Smith and moved to third on Rafael Palmeiro's single. Zeile sent Rupe's 3-1 pitch over the left-field wall for his 13th home run.

Rookie Ruben Mateo singled one out later and Royce Clayton's base hit put runners at the corners. Mark McLemore followed with a sacrifice fly.

Rusty Greer hit a solo homer for the Rangers, who have won eight of nine since the All-Star break to open a 6 1/2-game
lead over second-place Oakland in the American League West. At 56-40, Texas is 16 games over .500 for the first tim  since the end of the 1996 season.

"We've been doing a lot of offense lately. It was a good night to score 11," Oates said. "Mateo's assists were very important. Without them, our runs probably mean nothing."

Center fielder Mateo cut down Terrell Lowery at third base in the first inning and nailed Fred McGriff at the plate in the seventh.

"It makes me feel good when I contribute to the team. I'm not doing great on offense right now so I try not to let it affect my defense," Mateo said. "Sometimes one helps the other. Hopefully, my offense will come around so I can help th
e team both ways."

McGriff homered and knocked in three runs for last-place Tampa Bay, which lost for the eighth time in 10 games despite banging out 17 hits.

"Again, little details come into play. You've got to take care of the little things, like 0-2 pitches and defensively making the right plays," Devil Rays manager Larry Rothschild said. "They are important, it doesn't matter who you're playing or what you have gone through, they make the difference in wins and losses. In major league baseball, you are supposed to take care of those things."

Devil Rays third baseman Wade Boggs went 1-for-5, leaving him 13 hits shy of the coveted 3,000 plateau. Boggs' 2,987th hit tied with with Sam Rice for 22nd place on the all-time list.

The Rangers extended their lead to 8-1 in the fifth and chased Rupe. Greer doubled and Roberto Kelly walked in place of Gonzalez before Mike Duvall relieved. Palmeiro singled home Greer and Zeile grounded into a double play. Duvall threw two strikes to Stevens before the Rangers first baseman connected for his 15th home run.

Rupe was tagged for seven runs -- five earned -- and seven hits over four-plus innings.

"I didn't think he was real sharp from the start," Rothschild said. "I think he regrouped a little bit. He collected himself, settled in a little bit and then got unsettled."

McLemore drew a one-out walk in the sixth and Rodriguez followed with his 16th homer for a 10-1 cushion. Stevens walked in the seventh and came around to score on McGriff's error at first base.

The Rays scored three times in the seventh, two on McGriff's double and the other on John Flaherty's RBI single.

Tampa Bay made it close with four runs in the ninth. Smith's groundout scored Lowery and Boggs, Bubba Trammell and Aaron Ledesma added run-scoring singles.

The Devil Rays won the first two games between the teams this season but the Rangers have scored 45 runs in taking the last five meetings.
